Explore the art of meditation in this Masterclass, where we delve into the What, Why, and How of this timeless practice. Meditation cannot be taught, only techniques can be shared. Unlike Asanas where alignment, movement and breath etc. can be described, meditation is an inward journey. It is an exploration of the most personal nature, between the self, the ego, the mind and the soul. Meditation is a personal commitment.

Asana practice prepares the mind and body for deeper stillness, and discover techniques to calm the “chattering mind”—bringing the turbulent sea of thoughts to a state of serene focus. This class emphasizes that meditation is not a final accomplishment but a lifelong process, an inward journey toward clarity, calm, and intuition. With practical exercises and insightful discussion, you’ll gain the tools to begin or deepen your meditation practice and work towards the goal of yoga: “The cessation of the fluctuations of the mind,” as Patanjali described. Join us to learn, explore, and make a personal commitment to stillness.

What to bring:

  • Your own mat if you like, we do have mats available for a $1 cash donation
  • Water bottle
  • Your own props if you like, however the studio has bolsters and blankets for you to use as well
  • Open mind and willingness to learn

About the Facilitator:

Perri van Rossem’s journey in yoga is truly inspiring. Her dedication to the practice, coupled with her extensive study with renowned teachers and masters, reflects a deep commitment to understanding and sharing the benefits of yoga with others. Opening her own studio in 1995 marked a significant milestone in her career, allowing her to directly impact the lives of countless individuals through her teachings.

Believing that yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, health condition, or fitness level, she has worked with a diverse range of people, from prenatal mothers to Olympic athletes and seniors.
